Topping Staying Hot in 2020
Jordan Topping has been on fire since the start of the New Year, with 14 goals and 12 assists!
He is tied with Tyler Sheehy for the team lead with 26 goals this season. When I asked him what was working right for him lately he humbly replied,
“I think my linemates are doing a good job of creating chances for myself. Playing with guys like that, it’s pretty easy.”
Clinching Playoff Position
Topping has had several game-winners in regulation as well as in overtime. On March 3rd, Topping had the only goal in the overtime win against the Tulsa Oilers. His powerplay goal gave the Americans a sure spot in the postseason. He batted the puck out of the air into the net after a rebound from Falkovsky only 57 seconds into overtime. About Jordan
The 22-year-old forward played for the ECHL team, the Toledo Walleye last year with 31 points and 17 goals in 58 games. He has almost doubled his number of goals scored this year in 56 games and there is still plenty of time left in this 2019-20 season. The left-winger played his junior hockey with the Tri-City Americans of the United States Hockey League, where he had 80 points in 72 games during the 2017-18 campaign.
In a recent Facebook segment, Topping answered fan questions and had some jokes about his teammates and Head Coach Steve Martinson. We will have to see how those playoff beards turn out for the team this season.
